South Memphis, Tennessee – Israel and US authorities are probing the possibility that Jewish locksmith Aviv Brook (some news media are saying his name was Brock) was murdered on Saturday night in a terrorist incident. No arrests have been made at the time of this writing.
Brook was an Israeli working in Memphis as a locksmith. Over the weekend he was called to a locksmith job. When he arrived, the “client” shot him to death and robbed him. Normally, the Jewish locksmith worked only in the Jewish neighborhoods of Memphis. He was from Rehovot, Israel. Israeli authorities are working with the US to determine if there are any terror ties to the murder.
Initial details indicate that Brock arrived at an address given to him as part of his work. After two hours without contact, his friend went out to look for him and found him shot outside his car. The attackers stole his work equipment and left him mortally wounded at the scene. Israel National News

“Memphis Police found Brook’s body shortly after 1:15 AM following reports of gunfire in the area. Preliminary findings suggest he was lured to the location at 2300 block of Hernando Road, under the guise of a locksmith job before being attacked and robbed. No suspects have been apprehended so far.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has stated it is closely following the investigation. Meanwhile, Brook’s family is making arrangements to transport his body back to Israel for burial.” VINN News
Memphis, Tennessee is well known as an extremely dangerous city. Whether or not it was terror-related or even antisemitic is being investigated, but the murder rate in Memphis is ridiculously high at 44 homicides per 100,000 people. That rate is higher than Baltimore and Detroit.
