We live in a world where we are now lectured over ‘microagressions’, where politically incorrect movies are labeled with ‘trigger warnings’ and colleges have ‘safe spaces’.
If you think such an environment creates a veneer of politeness where people are super-careful not to offend anyone, you are totally missing the point.
In reality, college teaches people to see the world through Marxist lenses of victim and victimizer where the victim can do no wrong. What logically follows from that fits the Marxist revolutionary idea very neatly.
It breeds open hostility against the oppressor groups. The kind of hostility that ultimately strips them of their humanity and invites open season on the maligned groups.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
One of the oppressor-oppressed dynamics that has been taught to many successive cohorts of college students is that of Israel and Palestine.
Not long ago, we watched in horror as the pro-Palestine (Pro-Hamas?) demonstrations flooded streets in cities around the world with anti-Israel chants that make the blood of those who understand their implications run cold.
Some of these chants are open and unapologetic calls for genocide, invoking ‘Intifada’ and worse. One group of Jewish students were forced to take shelter in a school library and offered the option to ‘hide in the attic’. We saw a Russian airport stormed by a lynch mob looking for Jews to kill. They were even checking passports.
But woke universities were home of some of the most disgusting and incendiary anti-Jewish rhetoric, including open calls for violence like the following:
For years the news has been filled with stories with journalists desperate to frame white people (especially Republicans) as racial bigots. But they kept coming up with ridiculous stories like the Covington Kids, or Jussie Smollett, or that NASCAR guy with the ‘noose’ on the rope of his garage.
Even the worst of those — if they were real — is a far cry cheering the largest slaughter of Jewish civilians since the Allied liberation of Hitler’s death camps.
Notice the anonymous author of that quote couldn’t even allow for the humanity of a Jewish person, where the world ‘person’ was in scare quotes.
Those antisemitic rants caught the notice of authorities… and it wasn’t who you might expect.
Patrick Dai, a junior at the prestigious university, was arrested by federal authorities Tuesday for allegedly making a string of disturbing online posts over the weekend threatening to kill and rape Jewish students and to “bring an assault rifle to campus.”
Investigators traced the deranged posts to Dai’s IP address at his off-campus apartment, where he allegedly admitted to being the culprit, according to a federal complaint. — NewYorkPost
His parents claim he has been struggling with depression.
He has been taken into custody by the feds and will be arraigned on felony charges of threatening to kill or injure another using interstate communications.
Maybe we can give up on this Marxist DEI identity-politics nonsense and get back to some ideas that can actually work.
You know, basic stuff like treating everyone as an American instead of splitting everyone up into little identity boxes that squabble over whatever scraps the government is handing out THIS time.
