No Probable Cause to Charge Migrant Holding a Blowtorch?

In the midst of historic fires, California is a mess

California is in the grip of historic wildfires that have destroyed $ Billions in property damage and unknown numbers of lives lost. In Woodland Hills, local citizens saw a migrant wandering around the neighborhood with a blowtorch and detained him for police. But police could not determine probable cause in spite of the citizens saying he was trying to light fires.

Police arrived and the suspect was arrested but was not charged with arson or attempted arson. He was arrested on a felony probation warrant, but there was “no probable cause” for either arson or attempted arson.

Later, authorities stated the Kenneth Fire was reportedly arson-caused and was approximately 5 miles from Woodland Hills.

Law enforcement officials received a call at 4:22 p.m. on Thursday notifying them of the suspected arsonist. A person claimed that a man was purposely trying to start a fire in Woodland Hills, according to the Los Angeles Times…

The incident occurred approximately five miles from the start of the Kenneth Fire in Los Angeles, the most recent fire to start in Southern California. That fire reportedly started at 3:34 p.m. on Thursday and has burned over 960 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Initially, the LAPD could not determine whether the apprehended suspect was involved with the Kenneth Fire. He was not officially charged with anything when he was apprehended, according to multiple reports. However, NewsNation later reported that the Kenneth Fire was now being investigated as arson. Sean Dinse, from the Topanga Division of the LAPD, confirmed to the network that a suspect was in custody. Washington Examiner

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This is the video of the citizens detaining him:

The man told officers that he was using the blowtorch to smoke marijuana because he couldn’t afford a lighter.

Authorities states they could not determine any probable cause for charging the man in any arson, despite the blowtorch in his hand. Later, however, they said they had a suspect in custody for a suspected arson. It is unknown whether the man with the blowtorch is the same suspect.

The lack of trust for law enforcement and governmental authorities is one day going to blow up. Ten days from now, the Biden administration will be history, and Donald Trump will once again take the reins.  Whether that will actually stop the angst and hate that flows against our government is problematic. The failure to find any probable cause for this migrant has fueled the distrust in the midst of the terrible fires in California. People are afraid – and when fear is running rampant, anything can happen.
