For years now, we’ve heard about the struggles of and danger to Border Patrol agents at the Southern border. Now, however, that malady has moved up to Northern Border Patrol agents, according to an exclusive article in the Daily Caller. The huge influx of illegal immigrants has overwhelmed the smaller number of officers along the longest shared border in the world. The Biden administration either is not cognizant of the toll, or they don’t care one bit. Frankly, I personally think it’s that they don’t care.
There have been suicides among the Border Patrol. The government doesn’t care about that either.
“There’s a huge morale problem here because for two years they’re sent away for a month at a time. Agents are missing birthdays, anniversaries, all kinds of things, and it’s hard on marriages. He used to love his job. He’d come home, he’d talk about it happily. Now he comes home defeated. He has a countdown on his phone for when he retires. He was going to go as many years as possible; now he’s going to leave as soon as he can.” Border Patrol Agent’s Wife
What’s that about? Since Biden came into office, and Alejandro Mayorkas ended up in charge of the CBP, Northern Border Patrol agents are farmed out to the southern border to deal with that cluster. Meanwhile, there has been an influx of illegals at the Northern border, leaving a smaller staff to process all the illegals now sneaking into the United States via Canada. It has literally overwhelmed them. The CBP detailed 25 more agents to the Northern border to deal with it, but shuffling personnel is a poor substitute for fixing the problem.
There are 2,200 Border Patrol Agents at the Northern sectors. The largest sector for illegals is the Swanton sector in New York which has seen an 845% increase in illegal immigration. There are “limited to no barriers” at the Northern Border, so stepping into the US is easy. Some of the areas from Canada to the US are cold but have nothing to stop the illegals. Northern Border agents are simply “overwhelmed.” With limited agents, the Border Patrol is ill-equipped to handle it, especially since many of those agents were reassigned “temporarily” to the Southern border. While the number of illegals is much smaller than in the South (hundreds as opposed to millions), leaving a handful of agents to fend for themselves was a huge mistake.

Then there is Alejandro Mayorkas, the DHS Secretary. You know, the guy who is supposed in charge of border security for all Americans. He recently inferred that severe weather is partly fueling the uptick in illegal immigration during an interview with Christiane Amanpour. He specifically said that there is little threat from foreign terrorists because now domestic terrorism is the focus of the Biden administration. He also refused to call the border crisis a “crisis.” Like we’ve said before, the Biden Administration does not care either about the Border Patrol or you, the American people.
