On Tuesday, Katie Benner, a reporter for the New York Times, said on Twitter that supporters of former President Donald Trump should be labeled “enemies of the state” to fix America’s national security “dilemma,” Landon Mion wrote at Townhall.
“Today’s #January6thSelectCommittee underscores the America’s current, essential natsec dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a politician’s supporters enemies of the state,” she wrote.
“As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party,” she added. “But what happens if a politician seems to threaten the state? If the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports that threat?”
So, apparently, it’s not just Trump supporters but an entire political party that should be named “enemies of the state.” That’s sure to go over well with the rabid hyperventilating propagandists over at CNN and MSNBC, but it isn’t going to work in flyover country.
