Since Sunday, ICE arrested 11 Iranian nationals, one of which was a former IRGC sniper. Mehran Makari Sahel, Yousef Mehridehno, Ribvar Karmi (former IRGC sniper) just three of the 11 whom ICE arrested, as they were carrying Iranian Government IDs. Five of the Iranians had convictions for everything from Grand Theft to drugs and firearm possessions. What happened to “deeper vetting” that was supposed to be done for “special interest aliens?” It obviously wasn’t done, which makes the Iranians released into the United States extremely problematic.
“Over the past four years, thousands of Iranian nationals have been documented entering the United States illegally and countless more were likely in the known and unknown got-a-ways. Though we have not received any specific credible threats to share with you all currently, the threat of sleeper cells or sympathizers acting on their own, or at the behest of Iran has never been higher.” CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott

The potential for sleeper cells is high. As our US military friends would say, “Keep your head on a swivel.” That means pay attention to what’s going on around you, especially if you live in a major city or are walking through large crowds. It’s not a matter of “if” but “when.”
