Europe Goes Dark: How’s That Green Energy Working For Them?

Straining the electric grid

Spain was the epicenter of a massive blackout in Europe on Monday April 28. Spain, Portugal and parts of France were affected. It underscores the fact that “netzero” and many of the other green energy buzzwords are nothing more than fool’s errands that would crash electric grids worldwide.

Europe goes dark

Experts ruled out a cyberattack, and stated it was likely a mechanical failure called “grid oscillation” that was affected by a “rare” atmospheric phenomenon. Traffic lights failed, businesses and banks outage caused the inability to pay for items, cars couldn’t be recharged, trains stopped working, subways stopped running…

In Portugal, residents were told not to travel to the airport until further notice. France lost power for a short time, but the network came back online according to the national grid operator.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A “rare atmospheric phenomenon” was blamed for the outages, which affected millions, Portugal’s grid operator, Rede Eletrica Nacional (REN), said in a statement.

“Due to extreme temperature variations in the interior of Spain, there were anomalous oscillations in the very high voltage lines, a phenomenon known as ‘induced atmospheric vibration,’” the statement continued.

“These oscillations caused synchronization failures between the electrical systems, leading to successive disturbances across the interconnected European network.” (New York Post).

The outage in Europe was caused by an atmospheric disturbance that could actually happen to the United States in places dependent upon “green energy.”

Wind power and solar power are extremely susceptible to atmospheric disturbances. When the wind is stagnant, the turbines don’t turn. When they do turn, thousands of birds of prey die. Solar power works best when the sunlight regularly available and the batteries are stable enough to handle the needs (did you know that China is the main manufacturer of solar panels? Just sayin’). Hydroelectric, nuclear, and fossil fuels are reliable energy sources.

Needless to say, Europe had a major power outage because they have been champions of green energy. Good luck with that.
