What’s With Trump’s Middle East Trip? Cozying Up to Muslims?

President Donald Trump arrived in the Middle East prepared to do business. And business he did – inking agreements with Saudi Arabia and Qatar for $Billions in investments. He’s still scheduled to visit the UAE -United Arab Emirates and may even drop into Turkey as the Ukraine-Russian war is on the table there. But the Middle East trip comes with concerns about him getting too cozy with certain Muslim leaders.

Both Saudi Arabia and Qatar pulled out every stop to welcome the US President. The Saudis sent aircraft escorts for Air Force One, and a mounted white horse contingent after he arrived. Qatar even sent a contingent of mounted camels to greet him. In diplomatic response, The Donald shook hands with everyone.

Middle East trip agreements:

The agreement with the Saudis included critical mining and mineral cooperation, defense cooperation, space cooperation, archeology, energy, technology, energy, science, and infrastructure. All to the tune of at least $600 Billion in Saudi investments.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The agreement signed on May 14 with Qatar included purchase of hundreds of Boeing aircraft (they’ll have to step up their game now, no more door incidents). The agreements also promise joint defense cooperation, and a large purchase of MQ-9 Reaper Drones. The Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar holds a hub for US Central Command in the region, along with around 11,000 US troops. It also included Qatar “gifting” Trump with an interim Air Force One as a used aircraft until Boeing gets its act together and delivers what it promised back in the first Trump term. (Democrats are almost apoplectic over that gift.)

Qatar has also been the mover and shaker behind recent hostage negotiations.

One of the biggest concerns struck Christians with President Trump agreeing to lift sanctions on Syria. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who has a history of being in jihadist groups, was encouraged by Trump to “sign onto the Abraham Accords with Israel, tell all foreign terrorists to leave Syria, deport “Palestinian terrorists,” help the U.S. prevent the resurgence of ISIS and assume charge of ISIS detention centers in northeast Syria.”

“In Syria, which has seen so much misery and death, there is a new government that we must all hope will succeed in stabilizing the country and keeping peace. So I say good luck, Syria.” President Trump

Middle East trip concerns:

Good luck indeed. The “elephant in the room” is that Muslims adherence to the Quran is in itself a death cult. Plus they are allowed to lie to “unbelievers”. Saudi Arabia still beheads its opponents, and stones women. Their human rights abuses are well documented. Qatar has harbored Hamas leaders, and previously sponsored terrorists.

Syrian jihadists have been hell-on-wheels against the opposition. Some groups like Christians, and the Druze population in the country are concerned that they may be next after a slaughter of thousands of Alawites (Assad’s sect). Not counting the leader’s previous position as embracing Sharia law. President Trump wants to give Syria a “fresh start“, so he removed sanctions.

Time will tell whether any of these things will change after the relationship to America deepens. Will they be reluctant to commit Sharia punishments on opposition groups or those who violate their codes of conduct? Lives will depend on change. I suspect President Trump is counting on it form his Middle East trip.
