The letter cites that he has been in violation of an executive order laid out by his own brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo.
That order, number 202.17, states that “any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place.”
It further states that this must be done when social distancing is not possible.
“You have been observed entering and exiting the building and riding the elevator without the required face coverings,” the building manager writes. “Even though staff members have asked you to comply with this requirement, you have refused to do so.”
“This is a violation of the Executive Order, building policy, and places other residents and our staff at risk,” the letter continues.
“There are no exceptions to this rule, and you are required to comply.”

What Would His Brother Think About Chris Cuomo Not Wearing a Mask?
The letter from Chris Cuomo’s landlord goes on to threaten him with a fine of $500 if he continues to traipse around the apartment complex sans mask, according to Fox News personality Tucker Carlson.
New York Governor Cuomo has been demanding that citizens of his state wear a mask for some time, even implying that those who do not are unintelligent.
“It’s not smart,” Cuomo told reporters last Spring. “My colleague [Secretary to the Governor] Melissa DeRosa said yesterday, ‘It was stupid.’”
Be smart. Masks work. In simple New York terms: Don’t be stupid.

Of course, much like his younger brother, Governor Cuomo doesn’t always practice what he preaches.

Governor Cuomo has also told New Yorkers that not wearing a mask is “selfish.”
“I just do not get it,” said Cuomo, “You have to be selfish not to wear a mask now and you have to be disrespectful of other people, otherwise wear the mask.”
Andrew Cuomo is currently embroiled in a scandal in which he issued an executive order forcing nursing homes to take on patients that had tested positive for coronavirus.
The order prohibited facilities from requiring incoming patients “to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission,” and may have contributed to well over 6,600 deaths in New York.
Cuomo is a Hypocrite
The CNN anchor has, himself, been very critical of people who don’t wear masks.
“Look, right now we have to be walking the walk and taking desperate measures,” he said whilst criticizing President Trump for not wearing a mask back in May.
Earlier this month, he famously preened for his viewers by slamming the President for not wearing a mask upon returning to the White House after his bout with coronavirus.
“What a bunch of bulls***,” Cuomo said regarding Trump removing his mask.
CNN’S @ChrisCuomo mocks Trump’s return to White House:
“There he is: hair blown majestically. ‘I hold rallies and I tell you to ignore masks. And I rip mine off as I vanquish the virus because I am a leader! Fear not COVID.’ What a bunch of bullshit!”

Speaking of bulls***.
The letter from his building manager might warrant some level of skepticism if not for the other public instances of Cuomo refusing to wear a mask or abide by his brother’s executive orders.
Earlier this month, Carlson aired photos reportedly of Cuomo smoking a cigar at a Long Island restaurant with friends, no mask in sight, right after the CNN anchor called Trump’s return to the White House “propaganda.”

Caleb Hull, a communications strategist, blasted Cuomo at the time.
“Chris Cuomo was diagnosed with COVID-19, broke quarantine, didn’t wear a mask, put others in danger, got into a fight with a cyclist who called him out, then pretended nothing ever happened and threw a party when his ‘quarantine’ was over,” he tweeted.

Hull is correct.
Back in April, Cuomo was leveled by Carlson after he was caught staging a segment showing him emerging from his basement quarantine.
Turned out – by his own admission – he had been out in public a week earlier, breaking social distancing requirements, and he got into an altercation with a “loser, fat tire biker” that required a police report filing.

“All right,” Cuomo said during his staged emergence into the world. “Here it is. The official re-entry. From the basement. Cleared by CDC, a little sweaty, just worked out. It happens. This is what I have been dreaming of. Literally for weeks.”
At that point, Cuomo had already broken his quarantine when he traveled with his family to visit undeveloped property he owns in East Hampton.
