We’ve got footage of people on the Mexican side deciding to make a break for it and attempt to just stampede for the border and overwhelm security on the other side. The crowd takes off at a run over the bridge.

With the road closed to traffic, Mexican authorities made short work of dispersing the crowd.
It sure does seem as if Mexico is more interested in securing its national interests at the border (including lawful cross-border traffic) than WE are in securing OUR interests.
