Ukraine Fights Back, President Zelensky Refuses to be Evacuated: “I need ammunition, not a ride.”
Ukraine fights back on every side, and even President Zelensky refused a US offer to be evacuated. The US is aware of his position and is in communication with him. But he’s staying. His country is at stake. He is unique among leaders, most of whom flee the country during crisis. His patriotism for Ukraine is a testimony to inner strength.
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
As Putin demanded the Ukrainians depose Zelensky, they ferociously fought back. There is no cowardice being displayed as the Russians try to take back the country.
Good morning Ukrainians. Do not believe fake news. I am here. We will not lay down our weapons. We will defend our country. Our weapons are our strength. This is our land. Our country. Our children. We will protect all of them.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
He’s not alone: his countrymen are sacrificing their lives to save their freedom in what appears to be a futile effort. Children, civilians, military members, all are dying. The Ukrainian military claims to have shot down three Russian transport planes, though the capital city, Kyiv, is under a vicious assault from every side. Though surrounded and under siege, Ukraine fights back all across the country. News outlets are reporting that so far at least 120,000 Ukrainian refugees have fled the nation and it could grow much higher, according to the UN. Roadways to Poland are jammed with vehicles, as the residents of Ukraine flee from the attacks. And yet, many stay and fight back.
This post reads: “Near Chernihiv, a lightning-fast counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard defeated the enemy forces. There are prisoners. Equipment burned.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Then there was the Ukrainian woman who walked up to an armed Russian, handed him some sunflower seeds and told him, “You should put sunflower seeds in your pockets so that they will grow on Ukrainian land after you die.” Courage. She had a lot of it, since the Russian could have killed her on the spot.
