As of Friday, October 21, Tyrannical Trudeau froze ALL handgun sales and transfers, as we promised back in June. He is drunk with power and instead of giving his people safety, he has made them perpetual victims. Earlier this year when he said there is no such thing as “self-defense” – it was just a step toward full-fledged danger for all Canadians.
“Fewer guns mean safer communities. That’s why the Government of Canada is implementing some of the strongest gun control measures in a generation. Handguns are the weapon of choice in most firearm-related crimes, which is why limiting the number of handguns is a critical part of our plan to protect Canadians from gun violence.” Prime Minister Trudeau’s website
His action reportedly outlaws all sales, purchases and transfers of firearms between individuals. No foreign firearms are allowed into Canada. Exemptions according to the website:
- Applications submitted before October 21, 2022, to buy, sell, or transfer a handgun within Canada will continue to be processed.
- Limited exemptions to the national handgun freeze will apply. For example, high-performance sports shooting athletes and those who carry handguns as part of their lawful profession will be exempted, as well as authorized businesses such as gunsmiths, the film industry, or museums, per their licence conditions.
- The temporary ban on the importation of handguns into Canada that took effect on August 19, 2022, remains in place.
- Under Canada’s temporary import ban, authorized businesses and individuals can only import handguns for personal use, sale, or transfer if the end use meets the exemptions and conditions listed above and set out in detail in the Notice to Importers No. 1090.
According to Reuters, there are approximately 1.1 million handguns in Canada. But those are just the registered ones. How many criminals have handguns? No one knows. They also do not have a “2nd amendment.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
There are numerous issues with trying to removes guns from the people of a country in the name of stopping gun violence, but you’d have to actually crack open a real (not woke) history book to know them. It’s a wrong-headed way to address violent crime. Criminals do not adhere to laws – they never have and never will. In the meantime, Tyrannical Trudeau will continue his goose-stepping march toward total disarmament of law-abiding Canadians, and virtue signal his way into history. He’ll never admit he’s wrong.
