Westboro announced their plans to protest at the site of the funeral for Pfc Cody J Patterson in Corvallis, Oregon. In the end, they never showed up. Supporters of the Army ranger had vowed to protect the services of young Mr Patterson and thousands showed up ready to do just that. A large contingent of Patriot Guard Riders, a motorcycle club whose goal is to protect the services of America’s fallen heroes, were on hand to block any intrusion by Westboro.
