The National Guard were deployed to the DC occupation, pushed into a parking garage, brought back inside after they froze their butts off, then given a cookie. Oh, and don’t forget the couple of hundred of them who tested postive for COVID for their trouble. Eight Governors said enough was enough and told their National Guard members to pack up and come home because of the disrespect. The Democrats want the DC occupation to continue through March.

As we continue to work to meet the final post-inauguration requirements, the National Guard has been requested to continue supporting federal law enforcement agencies with 7,000 members and will draw down to 5,000 through mid-March.
We are providing assistance such as security, communications, medical evacuation, logistics, and safety support to state, district and federal agencies.
Democrats have totally destroyed the ambiance of our nation’s Capitol. The riots didn’t, the Democrats did. The city has seen riots before and survived. The city once saw the entire city attacked by the British and the White House burned to the ground during the war of 1812. Americans with real guts took it back and rebuilt it. But that DC occupation was different than this one…by a long shot.

Democrats and RINOs were so paranoid after Jan 6 that the FBI “vetted” the troops, even sending 12 of them home for some connection to a right wing group of some sort. They weren’t talking and speculation went nuts, from “militias” to “conservative groups.” (Wait- isn’t the National Guard a “militia”.) The governors were ticked about that too. It was an insult to their state. The National Guard troops signed on to protect their communities – and the Democrats didn’t trust them.
“The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male, and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden. You gotta figure that in the Guard, which is predominately more conservative … there are probably not more than 25% of the people that there protecting us that voted for Biden.”
Pelosi tried to play nice and told them how wonderful they were after she called them “Stormtroopers” and “Gestapo” during the summer. Jill Biden shared a couple of baskets of cookies. Whoopee.
“Florida, we did not let them go into their political beliefs. I thought that was totally inappropriate. I thought it was very disrespectful for people who are clearly patriots. So, this is a half-cocked mission at this point, and I think the appropriate thing is to bring them home.”
DeSantis was backed by Texas Governor Greg Abbot who had sent 1,000 troops for the inauguration but vowed in a tweet that he would never do so again
“This is the most offensive thing I’ve ever heard,’ Abbott tweeted Monday. No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard. I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC. I’ll never do it again if they are disrespected like this.”DeSantis and Abbott were joining in calling troops home by the governors of New Hampshire, Montana, Alaska, Massachusetts, Arizona, and Tennessee.“

There was no plot inside the National Guard – they took an oath to the Constitution, not to the Democrats. The inauguration went off “without a hitch” (25,000 armed soldiers…think about it). But the treatment of the troops was so bad that Trump allowed them to stay in his opulent hotel in DC. Eight governors refused to allow their National Guard to be mistreated, and brought them home.
Through world wars and wars on terror, Washington D.C. has remained a national capital where the hundreds of millions of taxpayers who labor to pay for its grand edifices, free museums, and lavish lifestyles could briefly come to enjoy a little of the life lived by the ruling class in the Imperial City. Now the ruling class has made it clear that it doesn’t want peasants entering D.C.
Even as Biden’s team prepped the executive orders that would end the national emergency at the border and shut down construction of the wall, new walls topped by razor wire were rising across the imperial city. The new Fortress of Government sealed off two miles of the National Mall and parts of downtown D.C. and filled it with more soldiers than are deployed in Iraq.
The Secret Service designated green and red zones. Some 25,000 National Guard members were dispatched from Vermont, Maine, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Colorado to prepare for a fake invasion that never came. But the armored vehicles and heavy weaponry did come. President Trump had wanted a military parade that would show America’s strength to the world. Biden held his own military parade to intimidate his fellow Americans.
(The list above does not include those who were pulled from the contingent by their governors after the disrespect debacle). The DC occupation meant that ordinary people coming into DC were met with a military lockdown and razor wire. Checkpoints and the show of force were reminiscent of North Korea’s antics, not America. People blame Trump for it, but in fact the riot was pre-planned and had nothing to do with his speech. Democrats, RINOs and their paranoia, their fear of being unseated from power, should be a reminder that we are about to enter a time when Constitutional rights will mean nothing.
Those of you who worried about Trump initiating Martial Law should take note of this time.
