The Boston Blob: The MLK Jr Sculpture is an Epic Fail

A sculpture in Boston that is supposed to “honor” MLK Jr is being referred to as a blob. And that’s the polite term. Much of social media is calling it “pornographic.”

The $10 million statue entitled “The Embrace” was unveiled in Boston. It was supposed to depict a photograph of civil rights leader MLK Jr embracing his wife. But its debut was anything but celebratory. $10 million appears to have gone down the proverbial toilet in the name of “art.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Personally, I have been to modern art exhibitions that make my hair frizz. But I love art, especially when it’s clearly something to which all of us can relate. This one is simply disrespectful. He should have thought about the angles from which it would be viewed. But sadly, in the heat of artwork, that often does not cross the minds of those who like to make abstract depictions.
