Richard Robinson, PA School Board Member, Mocks Parents; Calls Them “Village Idiots”

Pennsylvania – Richard Robinson, a York Suburban school board member, wrote an opinion piece in the York Dispatch that has riled parents in the district. And well it should. It was titled, “With all due respect, no I don’t work for you.” There was absolutely no “respect” involved in his diatribe.
Robinson made his opinion known on the portion of the school board meetings in which the parents are allowed to speak:
This provision gives residents of a school district the chance to vent their spleens about exorbitant taxes or demand subjects be taught properly the way they were during the most frigid period of the Cold War. In the past, more often than not, nobody showed up. Not these days. As social media outlets, national news broadcasts and our local newspapers tell us, school boards are now the new battleground in the fight for America’s future…
Some members of my community appear to interpret this part of board meetings as the occasion to tell board members why they have the collective intelligence of a village idiot and how the school district ought to be addressing real problems...
With all due respect to the men and women who snarl, ‘I’m a taxpayer! You work for me!’ No, I don’t work for you. I was elected by people who voted to represent you.
Richard Robinson in the York Dispatch
Sounds a bit like Mr. Robinson was “venting his spleen” and giving an occasion to tell the public why HE is the “village idiot.” Working to remove CRT and other Marxist garbage from the current divisive moves of foolish teachers’ union’s plans for school curriculum is not outdated, cold war, information. It is imperative to bring students into a world that needs mathematics, reading, science and language capabilities so that they will grow up to be something other than social justice warriors. A lot of morality needs to be brought into play as well, instead of teaching children that they can do whatever they want.
His statements brought the ire of parents, and those who have been working to stop the Marxist teachings present in school districts across the country.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Far too many elected officials have shown over the past two years that the ‘consent of the governed’ is little more than an inconvenient speed bump on the road to advancing their unpopular agendas. Mocking and dismissing the concerns of the community may be cathartic for petty dictators, but it is not a path to electoral success.
Nicole Neily, President Parents Defending Education (Fox)
Parents and others who vote MUST do research on every candidate not just for school boards, but for all local, state, and federal offices. Remember that there are lies being perpetrated by unscrupulous liberals and the media – a recent school board “election” in our region is a case in point: an honest citizen who openly opposed to CRT was pegged as an “extremist” and lost the election in favor of a milk toast candidate.
The United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy. It simply means that we elect others to represent us, and that’s where the statement about who works for who centers. But they are supposed to serve “by the consent of the governed,” as Neily pointed out. What happens when those we elected turn out to be arrogant scoundrels like Richard Robinson? We have recall, something which liberal electorates are often loathe to engage in. In this case, Mr. Robinson must be held accountable for his egregious comments.
