Report: Feds Used Banking Industry To Target MAGA Supporters, Claim Buying ‘Religious Texts’ Suggest ‘Extremism’
Buying a “religious text” shortly after the Jan. 6, 2021, protest-turned-riot at the Capitol could be suggestive of “extremism.”
That was the stunning opinion expressed by the federal government as the nation was going through the turmoil of a suspect presidential election, according to a report from Fox News.
It was during that time following the 2020 vote that federal agents insisted banks search and filter customer transactions using the terms “MAGA” and “Trump,” and warned that buying those “religious” items could be problematic.
The leftist ideology to which the federal agents adhered at the time was revealed in a letter released by the House Judiciary Committee.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Fox News Digital has learned the committee also obtained documents that indicate officials suggested that banks query transactions with keywords like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops and more,” the report said.
That election, of course, was the vote that was affected by at least two major outside and undue influences. One was the $400 million plus that Mark Zuckerberg handed over the various elections officials who often used it to recruit Democrat voters.
Never before has such a sum been dumped into an American election, and these funds were outside of the ordinary election funding procedures that are monitored and reported.
Second was the FBI’s election interference, when it advised media corporations to suppress information about the Biden family scandals revealed in a laptop computer abandoned by Hunter Biden.
Turns out that reporting was accurate, and FBI agents knew it at the time, as even the DOJ now has conceded, but a polling after the election showed that interference likely cost Trump that election.
The Fox report said the House Judiciary members and its subcommittee, the Weaponization of the Federal Government, have looked into what information federal agents got regarding American citizens “without legal process,” at the time.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the committee chair, said in the report there are documents confirming “the Treasury Department’s Office of Stakeholder Integration and Engagement in the Strategic Operations of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, distributed materials to financial institutions that outlined ‘typologies’ of ‘various persons of interest’ and provided the banks with ‘suggested search terms and Merchant Category Codes for identifying transactions on behalf of federal law enforcement.’”
Those included, “Trump,” “MAGA” and more.
Jordan explained, in a letter to former FinCEN chief Noah Bishoff, that, “According to this analysis, FinCEN warned financial institutions of ‘extremism’ indicators that include ‘transportation charges, such as bus tickets, rental cars, or plane tickets, for travel areas with no apparent purpose,’ or ‘the purchase of books (including religious texts) and subscriptions to other media containing extremist views.’”
Jordan, the report explained, charged bluntly: “In other words, FinCEN used large financial institutions to comb through the private transactions of their customers for suspicious charges on the basis of protected political and religious expression,” Jordan wrote.
The committee now wants Bishoff to appear to testify.
Jordan explained banks were given information on how to use merchant category codes to detect customers who may be “potential active shooters” or “terrorists.”
The report continued with Jordan”s concerns: “Despite these transactions having no apparent criminal nexus — and, in fact, relate to Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights — FinCEN seems to have adopted a characterization of these Americans as potential threat actors. This kind of pervasive financial surveillance, carried out in coordination with and at the request of federal law enforcement, into Americans’ private transactions is alarming and raises serious doubts about FinCEN’s respect for fundamental liberties.”
IMPORTANT NOTE TO WND READERS: For America’s ruling elites, nothing is more precious, wonderful and life-giving to their great cause than the Jan. 6, 2021 “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol. It’s irrelevant that the events didn’t come remotely close to constituting an actual “insurrection,” or that both police and over 200 undercover FBI assets provoked the riot – which Tucker Carlson calls a “set-up.” Yet Vice President Kamala Harris still insists the minor riot was just as horrific as the 9/11 terror attacks and Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
WHY are the elites doing this?
It’s not just because convicting, imprisoning, torturing and destroying the lives of hundreds of Trump supporters is meant to terrify and intimidate millions of Americans into submission. And it’s not just because activist judges and bureaucrats in over 30 states are absurdly trying to keep Trump off their state’s election ballots by citing the 14th Amendment’s prohibition against anyone who “engaged in insurrection” from holding elective office.
It’s because the elites’ destruction of America is so rapid, horrendous and obvious that they feel compelled to turn their opponents into monsters – or lose power at the next election. But that doesn’t mean just calling conservatives and Christians “racists,” “white supremacists,” “radical extremists” and “domestic terrorists” as they do continually. They know much more is needed.
Question: What if, far from being horrified by a half-baked riot they absurdly claim is worse than any domestic disturbance since the Civil War, the left actually LOVES the idea of violence on the right – the worse the better – since it perfectly serves their agenda?
