While appearing on Sunday’s edition of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer told host Kristen Welker that Democrats lost the 2024 election because voters didn’t realize all the good stuff Democrats did for them.
Seriously.
“So we did a lot of good things, but all too often, Kristen, we talked about the mechanics of the legislation and the details of the legislation and we really didn’t show the kind of empathy and concern to average working families who didn’t realize how much we had done,” Schumer said.

Translation: Voters are too stupid to understand what Democrats have done to them.
The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila offered a bullet list of things Democrats have done to America:
- Disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that resulted in 13 dead US service members.
- Record 40-year inflation rates/spiking grocery prices.
- Soaring gas prices because of Biden’s anti-energy agenda
- More than 15 million illegal aliens entered the US because of Biden’s open borders.
- Record fentanyl overdoses.
- Supply chain crisis.
- Covid vaccine mandates.
- Calling millions of Trump supporters “garbage”
- Soaring crime
- Job-destroying tax hikes
- Endless Ukraine-Russia war/giving Ukraine BILLIONS of dollars
- Weaponization of DOJ/locking up political opponents
- Woke/gutted military
But that’s not all.
Schumer also falsely claimed that he and other Democrats did not mislead Americans about President Joe Biden’s decline in mental acuity, Breitbart reported.
“What do you say that you and top Democrats misled them about President Biden’s mental acuity?” Welker asked.
“Look, we didn’t. Let’s look at President Biden. he’s had an amazing record. The legislation we passed, one of the most significant groups of legislation since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, putting 235 judges of record. He’s a patriot. He’s a great guy, and when he stepped down he did it on his own because he thought it was better not only for the Democratic Party for America, we should all salute him. We should all salute him,” Schumer replied.

Last July, USA Today columnist Nicole Russell, who, by the way, is no fan of President-Elect Trump, asked: “Now that we know that Democratic leaders knew about Biden’s decline, why did they hide it for so long?”
She went on to provide two possible answers:
Either Democrats hid Biden’s poor condition because they don’t respect Americans or the public’s right to full disclosure.
Or Democrats hid what they knew about Biden because they want to maintain power − no matter the cost to America’s well-being.
I would argue that Democrats don’t respect Americans, nor do they respect the public’s right to full disclosure — mostly because it’s (D)ifferent when (D)emocrats do it.
And I would add that Democrats want to hold on to power no matter what. So both of those possible answers are correct.
She went on to ask:
Is their thirst for power greater than their respect, empathy and goodwill toward the American public?
Do Democrats dare to answer honestly?
As we have seen by their actions, the answers to both of those questions are “Yes,” and, “No,” respectively. Their thirst for power is the greatest force driving the Democrat Party, and they will never, ever, answer any question honestly.
