Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
It’s a day of celebration for the families of Gershkovich and Whelan. Whelan, a US Marine veteran, was held since 2018, and Gershkovich held for 491 days. Journalists worked to keep his name in the forefront of the news. The prisoner swap is being touted as the largest and most complicated exchange since 1986 during the Cold War.
The woman journalist released was Alsu Kurmasheva, who worked for Radio Free Europe. The other person released was Vladimir Kara-Murza, a Pulitzer prize-winning Columnist.
While the families rejoice at the news, critics point to the fact that a Russian assassin, Vadim Krasikov, was serving a life sentence in Germany. His release with the prisoner swap may turn out to be a problem, as Vladimir Putin is said to have wanted him back for a long time. Other Russians released were incarcerated for cyber hacking resulting in the loss of millions of dollars.
Remember how the Democrats for years howled about Russian election interference?

The Biden administration and Harris will take credit for all of this, and people will buy it hook, line, and sinker. Don’t let it be a distraction. There has been so much news breaking in the last weeks that even some news anchors are overwhelmed. Keep your “head on a swivel.”
