As we previously reported, three American detainees in North Korea were removed from the labor camp and placed in a facility where they could receive medical treatment in Pyongyang. Today, Trump announced that Mike Pompeo was returning from another meeting in North Korea with all three detainees.

Secretary Pompeo and his “guests” will be landing at Andrews Air Force Base at 2:00 A.M. in the morning. I will be there to greet them. Very exciting!

Kim Hak-song, Tony Kim and Kim Dong-chul are American citizens who have been imprisoned in North Korea for some time. What Obama could not accomplish by political correctness, Trump accomplished by strength.

“At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other representatives of the United States government traveled to Pyongyang, North Korea on May 9 to prepare for the President’s upcoming meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. During Secretary Pompeo’s visit, the North Korean leadership released three American detainees. President Trump appreciates leader Kim Jong Un’s action to release these American citizens, and views this as a positive gesture of goodwill. The three Americans appear to be in good condition and were all able to walk on the plane without assistance. All Americans look forward to welcoming them home and to seeing them reunited with their loved ones.” Sarah Sanders, WH Press Secretary

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Trump noted that the date and place have been set for his meeting with Kim Jong-Un. He is going into this meeting with caution, knowing that Kim is dangerous dictator. But the release of the three detainees was a “gesture of good faith” in the run up to the meeting.

“Thanks to President Trump’s tough minded diplomacy, three Americans held hostage in North Korea are coming home. While our administration is encouraged that North Korea freed these innocent hostages, we will not let off the pressure until we achieve full denuclearization. Our Secretary of State Mike Pompeo did a remarkable job overseeing the release of Kim Dong Chul, Tony Kim, and Kim Hak Song – and to them I say: safe travels and welcome home. This is a proud and memorable moment for America.” Vice President Pence
