Pipe Bombs Sent to Prominent Political Figures Grows

The spate of pipe bombs sent to prominent political figures has grown to more than just five. It started with George Soros, and spread to Hillary and Bill Clinton, Barack Obama. Since then we’ve learned about similar pipe bombs being addressed to John Brennan at CNN in New York, and Maxine Waters.

Another was addressed to former Attorney General Eric Holder and sent to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s address in Florida by mistake based on the return address. Her office was evacuated as a precaution.

The device addressed to Maxine Waters was located at the Capitol Hill screening facility.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The New York Post reported,

A photo released by CNN shows the homemade bomb with a digital timer attached to it and wrapped in black electrical tape, with wires attached to each end.

It arrived in a manila envelope with Brennan’s name misspelled “Brenan.”

The package also bears a return address for US Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida), whose name and home state are also misspelled.

There are six stamps on the envelope, but no postmark.

The package was found as the Secret Service also intercepted similar explosive devices sent to Hillary Clinton and former President Obama, and days after one was found in the mailbox of Democratic donor George Soros.

“It appears that an individual or individuals sent out multiple similar packages,” said Bryan Paarmann, the FBI special agent in charge.

The CNN package also contained white powder, according to the New York Post article.

Some concern was also raised over Kamala Harris and Andrew Cuomo that turned out to be unrelated.

Fox reported,

In San Diego, meanwhile, the building housing the offices of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and the San Diego Union-Tribune was evacuated due to a suspicious package. But police later said the package was merely “abandoned property,” and a Harris spokeswoman said the “suspicious packages” were not addressed to the senator or their office. New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo also announced at a press conference that a “device” was sent to his Manhattan office. But it was later reported the device was a hoax, and unrelated.

Administration officials and Congress members joined in condemning the attacks:

“I stand with all Americans in condemning today’s attempted acts of domestic terrorism. As we continue to learn more, Americans are united in gratitude for the first responders — the Secret Service, the Postal Service, and other law enforcement — who protect our leaders and public figures from such unconscionable acts.” Senator Mitch McConnell

We fully agree – this kind of thing has no place in America… period.
