Officials at the DHS are under the gun for failing to comply with the injunction on Obama’s illegal amnesty plan. Actually, the order also includes the heads of Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. In an extremely rare move, the top officials must appear personally in court to answer the charges. This includes Jeh Johnson. Furthermore, Federal Judge Andrew Hanen has ordered all witnesses to be present on August 19th, because he will allow no consideration in the case beyond that.
The officials could avoid such a move if the can answer to Judge Hanen’s satisfaction, why they should not be held accountable for issuing 2,000 permits after the injunction was in place. This seems unlikely since the Obama administration had already issued over 100,000 work permits in violation of the injunction before and Judge Hanen’s patience for Obama’s lawlessness has worn through.
