Newaygo High School Bomb Blast – Accidental from “Severe Lack of Judgment”
Brooks Township, Newaygo County, Michigan: A homemade bomb explosion on Monday at Newaygo High School in Michigan left 5 students and a teacher injured. Authorities say that it was “unintentional,” but a situation described as a “severe lack of judgment” on the part of the 16 year old student who brought the homemade bomb to school. Daniel Robert Saylor, 34, has been charged.
It was an isolated incident and it was not intended to hurt people, we do not believe. It’s under investigation so we have new facts coming in but it was definitely not something he intended to have happen.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Classes at the school resumed on Tuesday.
Who created the explosive device and what was in it? The FBI and ATF are working with West Michigan State Police to determine the content of the device that was detonated inside the classroom.
Police executed a search warrant at the home of the student who brought the explosive device. They found other explosive and “unstable” materials, and detonated them. Because they ran out of daylight, they came back on Tuesday to complete their search and found more explosive materials.
The MSP bomb squad returned to a residence at the 2300 block of E. 95th in connection to the investigation of the explosive device at the Newaygo High School yesterday. Additional explosive materials were located at the residence and unstable materials were countered charged for safety. The bomb squad is continuing their protocols to render the scene safe for investigators.
The explosives were rendered safe so that police could complete their search, according to a tweet. Police notified Newaygo Child Protective Services as well.
