I’ll just get this statement out of the way first: an 84-year-old woman should not be wearing high heels and try to walk down a flight of stairs. It’s dangerous. But that’s exactly what former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did: she was wearing heels and fell down the stairs in Luxembourg’s Ducal Palace. She wasn’t the only geriatric casualty recently: Senator Mitch McConnell sprained his wrist and whacked his eye when he fell at the Senate last week.
Pelosi was in Luxembourg for a ceremony honoring those who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. She will not be able to attend the rest of the ceremonies, as a broken hip is an extremely serious situation for older people. 85%of older folks die within a couple of months after this kind of injury.
The news about Pelosi did not bring out any sympathy on X:

Biden has fallen. McConnell has now fallen and froze twice before the media last August, once in his home state of Kentucky and the other during a presser on the Hill.
