After four disastrous years of the Biden regime, the American people chose to return power to the one man they trusted to finally do what they’ve been demanding for years. Donald Trump is a fighter, and he triumphantly returned to the White House with an audacious plan to bulldoze the bureaucratic rot, challenge the D.C. establishment, and return our government to we the people.
In just over 100 days, President Trump has fired thousands of federal employees who were undermining the America First agenda, uncovered massive waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars, brought warring nations to the negotiating table, and closed our southern border after four years of unchecked invasion by illegal aliens.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Our Justice Department is now prosecuting lawbreakers instead of sheltering them. Our Health Department is working to make America healthy again, not to enrich the pockets of powerful industries. And our State Department is finally promoting American interests abroad, rather than funding woke ideologies around the world.
Yet we know all too well that lasting change requires action from Congress. Any executive order signed by President Trump can easily be revoked by a future Democrat president. Imagine what Gavin Newsom or AOC could do with the modern presidency. That’s why Congress must get off the sidelines and step up. If they fail to reclaim their legislative authority, everything President Trump has accomplished could be undone.
It’s been frustrating to watch Congress dither while the American people demand results. Voters rewarded Republicans not only with the White House, but with control of both chambers of Congress. That’s a clear mandate for bold action. Yet, nearly four months since President Trump’s inauguration, only five bills have reached his desk.
What is Congress doing?
Idaho’s congressional delegation has been active. Senators Jim Risch and Mike Crapo are chairing key committees and advancing strong legislation. Congressman Russ Fulcher is fighting hard for our land and resources in the House, and Congressman Mike Simpson is also working diligently. Still, Congress as a whole is moving far too slowly.
The stalled nomination of Ed Martin to serve as U.S. Attorney for D.C. is a perfect example of why Americans have lost faith in Congress. President Trump nominated this brilliant patriot to enforce the law against car thieves and corrupt officials alike. Yet a 53–47 Republican majority in the Senate failed to confirm him. Several Republican senators publicly opposed Martin, claiming his defense of January 6 defendants was beyond the pale.
Absolutely absurd.
It’s time for the Republican Congress to get off the sidelines. The American people aren’t looking for strongly worded letters—they want action and results.
President Trump is charging forward. He’s taking the hits and standing his ground. It’s time Congress joined him in the fight. If they don’t, voters will remember—and they won’t be forgiving.
Let’s get moving. The future of the country depends on it.
