Mark Kelly Promised Not to Take Money From Corporate PACs. But…

When most Democrat’s lips are moving, they are probably lying. At least it seems that way from our perspective. A prime example of that is Dem Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ former astronaut and husband of anti-gun Gabby Giffords). During his campaign, Kelly promised to “never take a dime of corporate PAC money.” He even sponsored a bill to ban corporations from starting PACs. Yet he has accrued thousands of dollars from them, even though often second-hand. Does he have any idea that these Corporate PACs have been funding his campaign? Just because a colleague gives him money, doesn’t mean it’s all unicorns and butterflies.

For instance, Kelly’s campaign has received $20,000 combined from the Green Mountain PAC since June 2019, FEC filings show. Green Mountain PAC, a leadership PAC affiliated with Democratic Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, has accepted $247,500 since 2005 from corporate PACs for Google, Pfizer, AT&T, General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman, filings show.

Nutmeg PAC, a leadership PAC associated with Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, has contributed $17,500 to Kelly’s campaign since May 2019. At the same time, the PAC has accepted $231,000 since 2011 from corporate PACs for Microsoft, Comcast, Raytheon Technologies, Pfizer, Honeywell, General Dynamics and UBS, filings show.

Kelly has also notably raked in $31,350 from Frontline USA since May 2020, filings show. Frontline USA, a leadership PAC associated with Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, has received $112,500 from corporate PACs for Raytheon, Boeing, Comcast, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman since 2010, records show.

Daily Caller

The problem with promises is that if politicians don’t pay attention to what’s really going on, and that goes for both Democrats and Republicans, they can get themselves in trouble. Digging deeper is not in their DNA because they think their agenda rules the world. Let’s just say that Sen Mark Kelly was either just “virtue-signalling” by promising not to take money from Corporate PACs , or he simply failed to check up on his Democrat colleagues who donated. Either way, he’s just another politician making false promises.
