Jane Fonda says she’s not proud of America on live television, would get down on all fours to protest with NFL — Video

While appearing on BBC’s “Hardtalk” last week, Jane Fonda was asked by Stephen Sackur if she’s proud of America today.  Her answer was an emphatic “no,” Breitbart reported on Monday.

“Let me ask you a simple question, are you proud of are you proud of America today?” Sackur asked.

“No!” she declared.  “But, I’m proud of the resistance. I’m proud of the people who are turning out in unprecedented numbers and continue and continue over and over and over again to protest what Trump is doing. I’m very proud of them, that core.”

Breitbart added:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Later in the segment, Fonda offered her thoughts on the NFL protests and was asked if she would participate.  She said she would not only participate by getting down on a knee, but she would get down on both knees or on all fours if necessary.

“I would take a knee,” she said.  “I would take two knees. I’d get on all fours if necessary.”  She went on to falsely claim that President Trump is “manipulating” it to appear as though the protest has something to do with the military.

“It has nothing to do with patriotism, it has nothing to do with the military,” she said.  “It has to do with the fact that racism is so alive and well in the United States.”

But, Sackur said, many watching her now would still say “she’s that same ‘Hanoi Jane,'” referring to Fonda’s infamous actions during the Vietnam War.

Fonda responded by giving an anecdote — which, of course, can’t be verified — of a woman who allegedly flipped from supporting Trump after being told of what his healthcare plan would do to her and her four four children.  According to Fonda, outreach like that, which apparently includes spreading false liberal talking points while not mentioning Trump or Fox News, is the answer.

Here’s video of her comments:

Fonda, naturally, declared that “some” of Trump’s supporters are “white supremacists” who are filled with hate.

“You don’t talk to them,” she said.

But, she claimed, a number of people who voted for Trump actually voted for Obama twice and were angry with the Democrat Party for failing to live up to their promises.

She reiterated Trump’s “forgotten man” theme by saying that many people who used to have good-paying jobs in factories are now struggling to make a living.  Of course, she failed to note that Democrat policies like Obamacare are largely to blame for that.
