Twitter announced Monday that Jack Dorsey will leave the company, and his replacement will be CTO Parag Agrawal. Good riddance, @Jack. But don’t expect anything to loosen up on the censorship end, because the new guy is just as left wing as Dorsey. He will remain on the Board of Directors for the time being. Twitter stock rose by 4% at the news of his leaving.
Twitter, Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) today announced that Jack Dorsey has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer and that the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Parag Agrawal as CEO and a member of the Board, effective immediately. Dorsey will remain a member of the Board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders. Bret Taylor was named the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding Patrick Pichette who will remain on the Board and continue to serve as chair of the Audit Committee. Agrawal has been with Twitter for more than a decade and has served as Chief Technology Officer since 2017.
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I’m deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It’s his time to lead,” said Dorsey.
Dorsey tweeted a letter to the Twitterverse regarding his decision.

The sad part is that many of the responding tweets claimed he was firmly for free speech. Not. The platform banned a sitting President. They banned people like Candace Owens and numerous other Conservatives because their narrative didn’t match with the Twitter agenda. They tore down Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children’s page for no logical reason.

Dorsey has been on and off the board of Twitter before. He was one of the founders of the platform, but was forced out in 2008 (The Epoch Times). He returned to Twitter in 2015. He was almost forced out in 2020 because he was also CEO of the payment platform Square and the Board became concerned that he couldn’t manage both multimillion dollar companies.
