Internet marketing company cancels accounts of Trump supporters, refuses service to Republicans, Trump voters

Blanchfield CEO of 1st SEO bans Trump supportersShortly after the November election, Mathew D. Blanchfield, CEO of the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based 1st in SEO announced that accounts belonging to supporters of President-elect Donald J. Trump would be canceled and the company would refuse to do business with Republicans and Trump supporters.

“America has elected Donald Trump, a racist, sexist, fascist, to be our next president. 1st In SEO will no longer do business with any person that is a registered Republican or supports Donald Trump,” Blanchfield said in a blog post at the company’s website.

“1st In SEO will also not do business with business interests that support either the Republican Party or Donald Trump. 1st In SEO obviously has no actual means of determining our clients’ or prospective clients’ political standing. We will rely on the integrity of the men and women who are our clients currently to find another Search Engine Optimization provider if they are Republicans, voted for Donald Trump or support Donald Trump. If you are a Republican, voted for Donald Trump or support Donald Trump, in any manner, you are not welcome at 1st In SEO and we ask you to leave our firm.”

He added:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

1st In SEO will do everything in our power to ensure that we break ties with any person or business that supports Fascism. We will communicate our political stance clearly to all prospective new clients. We will also aggressively advertise the fact that 1st In SEO will not do business with Republicans or anyone who supports our country’s president elect.

He wasn’t finished, asking clients to identify their party affiliation while announcing that Democrats and Progressives are welcome as clients:

We ask you, our current clients, to please respond to this letter and confirm where you stand politically. If you are a Republican or support Trump, we will no longer serve you. You will need to find a new SEO provider. 1st In SEO will, of course, provide your website with the same high quality service you have enjoyed until you are able to find a new provider. We will go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a smooth transition to a new firm and we will always be available for support should your new provider need our assistance.

To our Democrat and Progressive clients, we want to recommit to you that we will continue to work diligently to improve your internet marketing results in this quickly changing world.

Albuquerque’s KOB4 reported:

He’s certainly not worried about the loss of business. Blanchfield has no guess as to how many clients he might lose, but he said one has left so far.

“The expense financially to me is immaterial,” he said. “Morality, justice and doing what’s correct far supersedes financial gain for me.”

According to KOB, Blanchfield has lost one client so far.

Here’s a video report, courtesy of KOB:

Paul Joseph Watson added:

Firstly, the sheer stupidity of a business decision that immediately alienates half of your potential customers is off the charts.

Secondly, Blanchfield’s behavior is illustrative of how the left behaves in general – and is a huge part of why they lost the election in the first place.

The left preaches “tolerance” and “diversity” until the cows come home except when it comes to diversity of opinion, at which point leftists turn into the most vindictive, intolerant people imaginable.

And it seems Blanchfield’s actions may be legal, the Daily Caller reported:

While it’s illegal for most businesses in the U.S. to discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, or race, there are no federal laws barring discrimination based on political ideology. A handful of states prohibit such discrimination. New Mexico isn’t one of them.

The State Supreme Court, however, did side with plaintiffs who sued a photographer who refused to work a same-sex wedding.  Perhaps that case could be used as a template, since Blanchfield’s business appears to be available to the public.

Writing on Facebook, Blanchfield whined about the negative response to his announcement:

I am writing to address those who are swarming to leave us 1 Star reviews, sending hate e mails and calling to sing Nazi songs and threaten me personally. You are the exact people that 1st In SEO is proud to stand against.

I have already received threats against my company, my clients, my person and my children. I am just more motivated to stand against Trump and the most ignorant of his supporters with every negative review, threat and incoherent e mail I receive.

How does that saying go?  Sow to the wind, reap a whirlwind?

Of course, we don’t support death threats, but if you’re going to be a petulant child who decides to throw a temper tantrum, you deserve to get spanked.
