On Wednesday, I was tipped off by a reader that a GoFundMe page was set up to advocate the assassination of President-elect Donald Trump. A search of the crowdfunding site, however, unearthed several pages dedicated to the murder of the newly-elected chief executive.
Here’s the first four we discovered:
Did SCOTUS make the right decision on medical mandates for large businesses?
We found at least nine such pages, all engaged in the illegal act of advocating murder.
“WE WANT HIM DEAD!HE IS GOING TO F**K UP OUR COUNTRY AND WE WANT HIM GONE.HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE AND HE IS A WASTE OF SPERM.HE IS ANOTHER HITLER AND HE NEEDS TO DIE.LET’S JOIN HANDS AND MURDER HIM ASAP,” one page said.
“Whoever kill him will get all the donations and get bonded out,” another page added.
Yet another page said it was looking for $10 million for Mexicans to kill Trump.
“We are raising money to pay the mexicans to kill donald trump bitch a**,” the page says.
According to GoFundMe, pages that advocate criminal activity violate their terms:
You are solely responsible for all Campaign descriptions, comments, videos, images, information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials (“content”) that you upload, post, publish or display (hereinafter, “upload”) or transmit or otherwise use via the Services. The following are examples of the kind of content and/or use that is illegal or prohibited by GoFundMe. However, this list is not exhaustive and GoFundMe reserves the right to investigate anyone by engaging public and private organizations, including, but not limited to collection agents, private investigators, and local, state, federal and applicable international agencies, and take appropriate action against anyone who, in GoFundMe’s sole discretion, violates any of the terms or spirit of these Terms of Service (or the principles described in our preamble hereto), including, without limitation, removing the offending content, suspending or terminating the account of such violators, stopping payments to any such Campaign, freezing or placing a hold on donated funds when GoFundMe reasonably believes it to be required by applicable law, and reporting you to law enforcement authorities or otherwise taking appropriate legal action. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree to not use the Services to:
A. establish or contribute to any Campaign with the implicit or express purpose relating to any of the following:
- any activity that violates any law or governmental regulation;
Surely advocating the murder of America’s next President violates those terms. Right?
We can’t help but wonder: Will the Secret Service get involved? They should…
Update: As of 12:30 pm Pacific Time Wednesday, the campaigns we discovered earlier had been deleted, but we did find this:
- Protesters break windows, start fires in Oakland in response to Trump victory
- Celebrities who promised to leave U.S. if Trump wins; Will they follow through?
- Clinton supporters burn U.S. flag in response to Trump victory
- Clinton Supporter Torches Trump Supporter’s Truck
- Unhinged: Bill Maher threatens to ‘f*****g kill Anthony Weiner’ if Hillary loses
