Now President Joe Biden requested germ barriers be installed in the White House. (Breitbart) The pandemic must have rattled him, but then it’s understandable since he is the oldest president in US history. If you’ve ever dealt with those plexiglass barriers AND a mask, you know that communication is not optimum. Learn to hear a lot of “Huh?” and “Can you repeat that please?” in the White House.
The muffled sounds coming out of masks are one thing. Adding the plexiglass germ barriers just reminds us of how distant this new administration will be from the ordinary people of America.

Yes, it is a political statement. And no, he does not understand the principle of freedom in God. Even when he was hiding in his basement, he wore a mask. When he tries to talk through the multi-layered surgical mask, it comes out as “fmthheiiesefnqo” or something like that. Now he’s added another layer of barrier. Most of the time, he takes the mask off to talk, and it still comes out muddled.
Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs reported on the germ barriers, with a remark about some Trump administration aides choosing “not to wear masks at their workspaces.” So that’s how it is…more nasty anti-Trump remarks even after he’s gone.

At the Biden admin’s request, desks throughout the West Wing have been outfitted with plexiglass germ shields.
The plastic barriers stand about 3 feet tall; most desks have them now.

Biden wants to institute a mask mandate – at first it was just for everyone in the nation’s Capitol. Now he’s toying with the idea of a “patriotic” lockdowns and mask mandates across the country. In red states, that kind of jackbooted action will likely be met with serious resistance. And besides, law enforcement has more important things to do than enforce the whims of an elderly person.
A mask only minimally protects others from you. It does nothing to protect you from flying germs that for some reason can’t be trained to not fly in the sides of a mask or over a plexiglass germ barrier. Even those plastic shields that people wear are so open on the sides that the virus can infiltrate to your face. I’ve seen employees in stores wearing a simple lace thingamajig as if it were a “shield.” Not. Or people who wear masks in their own cars.
In many doctor’s offices, employees wear BOTH a plastic shield and a mask. That’s likely the prinicipal here with the germ barriers. It’s sort of a lockdown of its own.
And you thought locking down the Capitol with 25,000 National Guard troops was bad. “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
