Florida’s Gadsden Flag License Plate: NPR Claims It’s a Dangerous Far-Right Extremist Ideology

NPR (National Public Radio is a left-leaning publication) has suggested that Florida Governor DeSantis’ plan for a new Florida license plate to benefit veterans is a “dangerous symbol of far-right extremists.” Florida’s Gadsden flag is a reflection of Governor DeSantis’ service in the US Navy as a former attorney in the Navy’s JAG Corps (Judge Advocate General). Dangerous ideology? The leftist ideology is far more dangerous to the average person.

Florida’s Gadsden Flag is meant to convey a message- don’t mess with Florida. It’s also meant to benefit Florida’s large veteran community. Since DeSantis became Governor, the left has repeatedly attacked him, and attempted to destroy the freedom in the state. The Biden administration has done everything it can to pull down the values presented by the Governor – from allowing children to attend school in person, to indoctrination of students, to the bill that gives parents a say in what is taught in the lower grades. The message of the license plate? If you choose to go to the state of Florida, don’t step on their openness or they will bite.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Gadsden Flag

The Gadsden Flag has been ruled by the courts as protected speech, and NPR acknowledged that, but instead chose to hit DeSantis for using it. It is the very FIRST flag of the continental Navy and Marine Corps. The design was created by Christopher Gadsden, who was also one of the founders of the South Carolina Sons of Liberty. Over recent years it has been called “racist”and a symbol of people with “awful messages” – if awful means ‘get off my lawn,’ then so be it.

Gadsden was a founding member of South Carolina’s Sons of Liberty chapter. He served as a delegate to both the First and Second Continental Congresses. He left the Continental Congress in 1776 to serve as commander of the 1st South Carolina Regiment of the Continental Army. His legislative service continued in the Provincial Congress of South Carolina. And during the war, he was captured and served 42 weeks in solitary confinement after refusing to cut a deal with British expeditionary forces.

Governor DeSantis uses the Gadsden Flag as symbol for Florida frequently. It’s been used by the Tea Party for rallies. It’s been used by Trump supporters. If we had a smaller government, with less bureaucracy, you probably wouldn’t see the historical flag very often. But as radical leftists gain more and more power, you will likely see more of it. The Timber Rattlesnake that is depicted on the flag is native to the Eastern United States, as well as 12 counties in Northern Florida. It doesn’t like to attack without provocation, but will defend itself with a nasty venom. Nemo Me Impune Lacessit.
