DC Bill Would Allow Illegals, Noncitizens to Vote

Unconstitutional and Dems Don't Care

The US Constitution guarantees the right to vote…for citizens. It does not give illegal immigrants or noncitizens the right to vote. But a DC bill passed by the DC City council opens the door for anyone to vote in local elections regardless of immigration status or citizenship, as long as they lived in DC for 30 days.

Wait…who’s voting here? The DC bill is straight up unconstitutional

“If Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser signs the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022, an estimated 50,000 noncitizen residents — including those here illegally — would be free to cast ballots in local elections.

But that’s not all. As the Post pointed out, there is nothing in the measure “to prevent employees at embassies of governments that are openly hostile to the United States from casting ballots. Or foreign students who are studying abroad in Washington for a semester.” There you have it: our nation’s capital is ready to hand ballots to people working against our nation’s interests.” Jason Snead in the Daily Caller

The radical leftists are attempting to revamp the entire scope of United States Politics. Senator Tom Cotton is attempting to stop the DC bill, calling it an “insane policy.”

“Allowing illegal immigrants to vote is an insult to every voter in America. Every single Democrat should be on the record about whether they support this insane policy.” Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR)

Even the leftwing Washington Post called the bill a “bad idea.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“There’s nothing in this measure to prevent employees at embassies of governments that are openly hostile to the United States from casting ballots. Or foreign students who are studying abroad in Washington for a semester.” The Washington Post op-ed

New York City attempted to pass a similar bill in 2021, but it faced a legal challenge and the NY Supreme Court quashed it as unconstitutional in New York. As for DC, “home rule” allows legislators to block a DC bill if they enact a disapproval resolution within 30 days. The bill was passed by the Council last Tuesday, so time is of the essence.

Democrats don’t seem to care whether their pet plans are legal or not, they just want the votes.
