CNN’s Fareed Zakaria: ‘Trump assassination’ version of ‘Julius Caesar’ a ‘masterpiece’

As we reported earlier, a play produced and performed in New York’s Central Park depicts a Trump-like character as a modern-day version of “Julius Caesar” in the classic William Shakespeare play.  The title character — Caesar — or to be more precise — a Trump-like version of the ancient Roman dictator — is shown stabbed to death.  CNN’s Fareed Zakaria was so taken by the performance that he called it a “masterpiece” on Twitter.

“If you’re in NYC, go see Julius Caesar, free in Central Park, brilliantly interpreted for Trump era. A masterpiece,” he tweeted.

A “masterpiece.”  Just let that sink in for a few minutes before proceeding.

Naturally, Zakaria got hammered on social media:

One could easily believe that Zakaria fantasizes about Trump being murdered.  And let’s not forget that this is CNN — the same network that once employed Kathy Griffin, the D-list “comedian” who thought holding a bloody facsimile of Trump’s severed head constituted “comedy.”  We’re still waiting for the punch line on that, but we’re pretty certain we really don’t want to know…

It’s also the same network that employed Reza Aslan, the brain-eating host who referred to the president as a “POS” — sorry, we’re not going to print what he said, but you can see it here.

A post at the Gateway Pundit observed:

The left is obsessed with the idea of President Trump being assassinated. Kathy Griffin recently did an ISIS-inspired photoshoot holding Trump’s severed head dripping blood. Rapper Snoop Dogg also did a rap video where he shot a President Trump lookalike in the head. The left is a violent, seditious political faction that must be stopped.

Zakaria, Cristina Laila added, “not only has unleashed a profanity-laced tirade towards President Trump live on air, he is now praising the ‘assassination’ of a sitting U.S. President. CNN should cut ties with him or face the backlash.”

It’s really no wonder CNN is now seen as the least-trusted name in cable news…  One has to wonder: What’s next?
