The Border Patrol has to release migrants into the US now, as the “catch and release” program touted by Biden has been reinstated. 108 of those migrants released into Brownsville, Texas tested positive for COVID. The rapid covid tests began on January 25, but a Brownsville official stated that the city doesn’t have the authority to stop them from leaving to other parts of the US. They advise the migrants to quarantine and follow CDC guidelines and request that they contact an NGO for shelter or a place to quarantine. Some have already purchased tickets to other destinations. The rapid Covid tests are given at the Brownsville Bus station. Bus drivers are not allowed to ask migrants for proof of a Covid test before taking them wherever they want to go. One migrant told Noticias Telemundo Investiga that she was headed to North Carolina even though she tested positive. She said she didn’t “feel anything” and was wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer.
Liberals are always attempting to make Americans lock down and worry about that “asymptomatic” issue. But they appear to be silent on this situation with illegals. Could this become a “superspreader event” like liberals are always hollering about?
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Not all legislators are happy with the situation, in fact, one Democrat is apprehensive about it:
“It is not a crisis yet, but it will become a crisis. The numbers have been increasing, and as your report just said a few minutes ago, the numbers are just increasing every day. The number of unaccompanied kids, the number of families who are coming in are just increasing every day. In my district, just a couple of days ago, 166 people. And it goes on, and just different numbers are going up. So, it’s not a crisis yet, but it’s going to get there very soon.
You add COVID-19 on top of that. You add a lot of the border communities are not getting the vaccines fast enough. The fact they aren’t letting Mexican legal visa holders come across, but they’re letting undocumented people in, that does cause a concern to me and a lot of my border community leaders down there.
