Bowing to Adversaries: Janet Yellen Makes a Fool of Herself and the USA While in China

Violated protocol on so many levels

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen went to China to “mend fences” with the Chinese Communists, since tension has escalated in recent months. But her priorities didn’t reflect the insidious nature of what China has been doing in the world…or to the United States. She also messed up the name of the Chinese official, which shows a lack of doing her homework (did she pick that up from her boss?). Bowing to her Chinese counterpart was past embarrassing, giving China leverage to cause more issues. It was a sign of weakness, and that wasn’t her only mistake. She is NOT a diplomat and should never have gone to represent the USA.

She claimed that the talks were substantive and direct. She told reporters that the “world is big enough” for both the United States and China to thrive. However, that statement came not long after China announced export restrictions on two key materials in the creation of semi-conductors. It was part of the technology war that China has been waging. Not to mention their startup of an alternative currency program referred to as BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) banking meant to dethrone the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Or the Chinese theft of intellectual property. Yellen’s sights apparently have been focused on her boss’ climate change agenda.

Yellen spent some time kowtowing to her Chinese counterpart, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng at their first meeting. It was a serious breach of protocol. He Lifeng even backed away from her slightly and did not return the ridiculous gesture. Bowing is a universal sign of submission.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

China views the United States as irrational, part of which comes from our current leadership. With calls for decoupling from China so that we are not dependent on them, Yellen assured them that decoupling was a bad idea and was not likely to occur.

Sadly, this mission to China was even worse than Antony Blinken’s recent visit. The problems between China and the US are exacerbated by their aggression towards other nations, and their continued efforts to become the dominant global power by any means necessary including theft, espionage, shows of force, and rhetoric. The United States needs strong leadership, not bowing, submissive fools.
