Bill request 354 targets Kentucky in the same manner as Virginia was targeted by the anti-gun crowd. The rights of Kentuckians are on the line.
Bill Request 354 summary reads:
Amend KRS 527.010 to define “assault weapons” and “large-capacity ammunition-feeding devices”; create a new section of KRS Chapter 527 to criminalize possession and transfer of large-capacity ammunition-feeding devices; create a new section of KRS Chapter 527 to criminalize the possession of unregistered assault weapons and to require the owners of registered assault weapons to store the weapons in a manner which renders them inoperable to unauthorized users; create a new section of KRS Chapter 237 to establish the assault weapons registration program and a weapons buyback program under the Department of Kentucky State Police and to authorize a fee and trust account and make an appropriation; amend KRS 16.220 and 237.104 to exempt weapons from the buyback program from prohibitions on the destruction of certain weapons.
This bill request 354 has been prefiled by Rep Jeffrey Donovan (D-Fairdale) for the 2020 legislative session. The Kentucky legislature is currently dominated by Republicans (referred to as the Kentucky Trifecta). But given what happened in the elections in Virginia, it would behoove Kentuckians to pay close attention to what the Democrats are planning for their state.
Donovan believes the time is right for his bill to pass next year in spite of the Republican majority.

Spectrum News reported,
Donohue said his main goal with the bill is safety.
“It’s all about a mindset. We need to change the mindset about weapons that’s in the Commonwealth,” Donohue said. “I’m a gun owner myself and I’m not trying to take anybody’s rights away from them, but we have to take those types of weapons out of folks hands that’s using them for the wrong uses.”
Stephen McBride is president of the Kentucky Concealed Carry Coalition, a gun rights group. He said the bill violates both the U.S. and the Kentucky state constitution.
“We have a Bill of Rights, we don’t have a bill of needs,” McBride said. “We do not have to prove a need to get these weapons. We have a right to own them.”
Donohue said he doesn’t feel like the proposal is an infringement on the Second Amendment.
“Show me the justification of what that gun is used for,” Donohue said. “Those types of weapons are used for mass destruction. That’s exactly what they’re designed for. They’re not designed for hunting or anything like that.”
The 2nd amendment wasn’t designed for “hunting.” Donovan is a typical Democrat sheeple who believes bs spouted by leftists. They always talk about “safety” when in fact they mean disarm. He assumes what other anti-gunners assume- that an AR is a “military” weapon when it is most certainly not. It’s an agenda.
Democrats are on an all-out attack against the 2nd amendment. They want YOUR rights, and they are willing to go the extra mile to get them. They use ballot initiatives to target uninformed voters who really don’t care about elections. They use television advertisements to lie and twist the facts. They wish to switch state legislatures from red to blue or purple. Many states have already succumbed to the plan.
This is a call to action for all second amendment supporters: PAY ATTENTION to what is occurring not only in your states, but in the Congress. Do some research into bills that are proposed. Don’t listen to what the mainstream media thinks- do your own research. Your rights are in the crosshairs of anti-gun and anti-American activists. Don’t wait until it’s too late!
