With Congress likely to flip in November, a growing cloud of public dissatisfaction toward Joe Biden turned darker with the release of a new Rasmussen survey showing half of likely voters who “believe President Joe Biden should be impeached, and nearly as many think Republicans will do it if they win a congressional majority in the midterm elections.”
According to Rasmussen, the numbers appear almost evenly split. While 50 percent of voters “support the impeachment of Biden, including 33% who Strongly Support it, 45 percent are opposed to impeaching Biden, including 33% who Strongly Oppose it.”
The mysterious missing 5 percent apparently have yet to make up their minds.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The idea of impeachment was first launched in October, when Ohio Congressman Bob Gibbs “filed articles of impeachment against Biden, citing his immigration policy and his failure in Afghanistan, among other reasons,” Rasmussen recalled.
There are some alarming numbers for the Biden camp. As reported by Rasmussen, “Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters, 34% of Democrats and 42% of voters not affiliated with either major party at least somewhat support Biden’s impeachment.”
One of the biggest reasons for impeachment talk appears to be Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. According to a Monday report at Democracy Now, more than 100 Afghan citizens who worked for the government, military or international military forces have been murdered since the August Taliban takeover.
According to Rasmussen, “After the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, 60% of voters agreed with South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham that Biden deserved to be impeached.”
For weeks, the news has been nearly all bad for the Delaware Democrat, as critics publicly question his judgment and his ability to lead. They also continually talk about his cognitive abilities; not good for the leader of the free world.
Rasmussen’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll has Biden continuing to tank, with 59 percent of voters disapproving of his job performance and only 39 percent approving. Of that, only 19 percent “strongly approve” of the job he is doing, while 49 percent “strongly disapprove.” This leaves Biden with a negative rating in the Presidential Approval Index of -30. That’s a drop of three percentage points overnight from Monday’s tracking poll.
