Ahead of the midterm elections, and with a “red wave” still looming just over the horizon, the White House has attempted to trot out an abrasive new marketing ploy known as “Dark Brandon”.
The idea, which was first released on Twitter, was that Joe Biden was transforming into some new, aggressive character under the aforementioned moniker. He would turn snarky and angst-y, and he would begin to go on offense instead of defense when it came to dealing with what he calls “Ultra MAGA” Republicans.
The phony persona was manifested in full during his now-infamous “soul of America” speech, in which the President himself alluded to the idea that those who weren’t politically in-line with him were a “threat to democracy”.
But the shtick backfired, and “Dark Brandon” appears to have reinvigorated the MAGA Movement en masse.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
We needn’t look any further than New Hampshire to recognize this.
Republican Senate candidate Don Bolduc of New Hampshire battled his own party and won.
Now, the retired Army brigadier general has a bigger fight ahead, as he tries to defeat former governor and first-term Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan in a crucial Senate contest in a key swing state that may determine if the GOP wins back the chamber’s majority in November’s midterm elections.
“You sent the biggest signal to the establishment tonight. They are going to work for you,” Bolduc said late on Tuesday night, after declaring victory in New Hampshire’s GOP Senate primary.
And that wasn’t the only indication that MAGA was still mighty coming from the political bellwether state.
