ACLU: Only ‘white supremacists’ will benefit from White House immigration plan
On Thursday, Stephen Miller held a conference call outlining the White House framework of an immigration deal that reportedly offers a path to citizenship for some 1.8 million illegals. Despite that, so-called “immigration advocates” have already called it a “legislative burning cross,” Twitchy said. Among those weighing in were the left-wing ACLU, which claimed that “only” white supremacists will benefit from the plan.
“Today the White House released a hateful proposal that would slash legal immigration to levels not seen since the racial quotas of the 1920s, eliminate legal channels for African immigrants, and spend $25BIL for a wasteful border wall + increase in Border Patrol and ICE agents,” the ACLU said in a tweet.
“Stephen Miller has said that his proposal is ‘extremely generous,’ but the only community that benefits from this supposed generosity are white supremacists,” the organization added.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
They weren’t finished, however:
The White House proposal is clearly an effort to sabotage bipartisan talks on the issue by continuing to put issues on the table that are non-starters.

The crisis facing Dreamers and their families is urgent, but addressing it must not come at the expense of using immigrant youth as bargaining chips or devastating border communities. This proposal should be deemed dead on arrival.

Naturally, this didn’t sit too well with many.
This is demagoguery at its finest. Demonizing Americans who want secure borders & legal immigration is a losing strategy. Do better.

It’s like they’re *trying* to radicalize me on immigration. https://t.co/Ga0DRLKJRb

According to Breitbart:
The path to citizenship would require a 10-12 year period where recipients would be required to demonstrate good behavior, work and education requirements, and good moral character.
A senior White House official described the plan as an “extraordinarily generous concession” with Democrats but made several demands considered non-starters by members of Congress supporting amnesty.
The White House said that it intended to send the framework to Senate Majority Mitch McConnell, who promised Democrats a vote on the Senate floor by February 8.
The framework includes a $25 billion lump sum “trust fund” for a border security “wall system” for not only the Southern border but major security investments on the Northern border as well.
It also includes sweeping limitations for chain migration — limiting family immigration sponsorships to only spouses and minor children — not for parents or extended family members.
The new limitations, Breitbart said, “would apply to all immigrants in the United States, not just the newly legalized 1.8 million.”
“It will never, ever, ever, ever, work unless it’s universal,” the White House official explained. “It’s a global change to the U.S. immigration system.”
But, Neil Munro said, there will not be any beneficial reduction in cheap-labor immigration until 2027.
You read that right — 2027.
According to Munro:
More importantly, chain-migration would formally end immediately, but everyone on the huge waiting list would be allowed into the United States. That pipeline of pending chain-migration immigrants includes roughly 4 million people — many of whom will depend on taxpayer funds because they are either unskilled or too old to work. That population is enough to keep the chain-migration pipeline open for another ten years, which means the public only gains a benefit if the alliance of business groups and progressives somehow fails to expand other areas of the immigration system during the next ten years.
“Everybody gets in,” said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “It will be eight to 10 years before there’s any reduction in immigration numbers.”
A one-year grace period for chain-migration people is understandable, he said. “But for everybody on the waiting list to be able to come? That is absurd.”
Despite that, the ACLU thinks this only benefits white nationalists…
