‘Absolutely False’: Secret Service denies liberal claims of White House firings
Secret Service fires back…
While the political Left in America attempted to own the phrase “fake news” in their attacks against news sources such as Fox News, Breitbart.com, and the Drudge Report, it’s the same Lefties that are increasingly caught as the guilty party when it comes to pushing fake news.
Case in point would be the flurry of tweets shot out by Steve Clemons, described by The Washington Examiner as “a longtime left-wing think tank writer who now serves as the Washington editor at large of the Atlantic and National Journal.”
Specifically, Clemons claims that “two Secret Service managers were ‘abruptly forced to resign’ and were escorted out of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building [EEOB], the building adjacent to the White House.”
Reports coming in that some Secret Service mgr level personnel forced 2 resign 2nite & escorted out of EEOB. Two out but source says more

Repeat. Two (& perhaps more) @SecretService Mgr level staff abtuptly forced to resign tonight & escorted out of EEOB #trump #whitehouse
— Steve Clemons (@SCClemons) February 3, 2017
Despite his breathless tweets, Clemons played quite the game of CYA by posting that all his tweets are built on a foundation of “speculation”:
Not clear 2 @SecretService staff why they were abruptly forced 2 resign 2nite. individually terminated, escorted out #secretservice 1/3
— Steve Clemons (@SCClemons) February 3, 2017
The dismissed @SecretService staff now learning others also let go as they connect after the dismissals. Not sure total number fired 2/3

One of fired @SecretService Mgrs speculates #Trump is restructuring the service but this is speculation #secretservice 3/3

However, The Washington Examiner’s Susan Crabtree is reporting;
“The report regarding the Secret Service personnel is absolutely false,” an agency spokeswoman said Friday.
She referred all further questions to the White House press office, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Furthermore, Crabtree also notes;
Clemons is on a plane to Tokyo and could not be reached for comment.
