A woman in North Carolina went to an anti-ICE protest wearing a mask. When she was asked about the mask, she stated it was to protect herself against “fascists”. But she spelled her name out letter by letter for the reporter. These people are not particularly smart. And they are being paid by NGO groups that will now be under investigation by both Congress and the FBI. If they’re ‘nongovernmental’ groups, why are we paying for them?
The first investigation has the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) in its crosshairs. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley sent a letter to Angelica Salas, the Executive Director of the NGO, demanding that they cease and desist funding the riots in Los Angeles or elsewhere.
“While peaceful protest is a cornerstone of American democracy, these demonstrations have escalated into lawless mob actions. They have obstructed federal law enforcement, endangered public safety, and disrupted the rule of law. This lawlessness is unacceptable. It must end…”
“Credible reporting now suggests that your organization has provided logistical support and financial resources to individuals engaged in these disruptive action…Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.” Josh Hawley (Townhall)

The questions over NGO groups funding anti-American activities have been raised for years. It was only after DOGE began cutting them off the government dole that suddenly people started paying attention. The “Summer of Love” riots in major US cities across the nation were funded by left-wing groups. Unfortunately, no one did anything about it.
At this point, it is unlikely that the formal letter from Senator Hawley will do anything to solve the problem. Arrests, and cutting off all government funding to NGO groups would at least be a start.
