TSA beats, arrests teen cancer patient
Derisively claiming that TSA actually stands for Thousands Standing Around, the government-ran airport security bureaucracy just may really stand for They Surely Assaulted. Case in point would be the beating and arrest of Hannah Cohen.
As reported by WREG (of Memphis, Tennessee) and also PJ Media, TSA goons assigned to Memphis International Airport beat the 19-year-old cancer patient leaving her bloodied and bruised before she was led off in handcuffs. It was when young Hannah was returning home to Chattanooga after receiving treatment at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital when things went south rather quickly.
While processing through the TSA checkpoint, Hannah somehow set off the metal detector. It was then that her mother, Shirley Cohen, that her daughter was “partially deaf and blind in one eye, paralyzed, and becomes easily confused. ‘They wanted to do further scanning, she was reluctant, she didn’t understand what they were about to do,’ she said.”
Nonetheless, TSA thugs kept mom at a distance from a noticeably scared Hannah. “She’s trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere,” said Shirley.
Hannah was arrested, booked, and sent to jail. “Here we were with nowhere to go, not even a toothbrush, our bags had gone to Chattanooga,” said her mother. Authorities have since thrown out all charges, but the Cohen family has filed a lawsuit against the TSA, the Memphis Airport, and the Memphis Airport Police.
While none of the accused in the suit have made a public statement, TSA representative Sari Koshetz made the following statement, “Passengers can call ahead of time to learn more about the screening process for their particular needs or medical situation.”
Mother and daughter were returning home from their latest visit to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Hannah has been receiving treatment there for brain cancer for the past 17 years.
