Linda Sarsour calls for Muslims in America to wage ‘jihad’ against Trump — Video

While speaking at the 54th Annual Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Convention in Rosemont, Illinois, Linda Sarsour, a prominent Women’s March leader with ties to Hamas, called on Muslims in America to engage in a jihad, or holy war, against President Donald Trump.

“Why sisters and brothers, why are we so unprepared. Why are we so afraid of this administration and the potential chaos that they will ensue on our community?” she asked in her 22-minute speech.

“I hope, that when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad,” she said in a particularly disturbing part of her speech.

“We are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad … but here in the United States of America where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reining in the White House,” she added, referring to the current president.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“When I wake up in the morning, and I remember who is sitting in the White House, I am outraged,” Sarsour said. “This is not normal, sisters and brothers. Those people sitting in the most powerful seats in this country, is not normal.”

She also called upon Muslims to refuse to assimilate into American culture, saying their top duty is to please Allah.

“Our number one and top priority is to protect and defend our community. It is not to assimilate and to please any other people in authority,” she told the audience. “And our top priority … is to please Allah, and only Allah.”

Here’s video of her call to jihad:

The Conservative Review added:

Sarsour’s address was delivered in front of the nation’s largest Islamic advocacy group, one which has deep ties to extremism.

Federal prosecutors have labeled the Islamic Society of North America as part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood network that was initially set up to raise funds for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

The annual ISNA convention has often featured radical Islamists. In 2001, Anwar al-Awlaki (who later became the leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula), gave a keynote lecture on “tolerance.”

The ISNA convention is consistently rife with anti-Semitism and serves as support for U.S.-designated terrorist organizations.

The Conservative Review posted her entire 22-minute speech:

Writing at Jihad Watch, Robert Spencer noted:

She is working from the myth that Muslims in Trump’s America are facing widespread and systemic persecution and harassment, and that much worse (a Muslim registry! Internment camps!) is looming. This is, of course, nonsense, but it is dangerous and incendiary nonsense, fueling a sense of grievance that will lead to more jihad terror attacks in the United States.

Spencer is correct, as there is no Muslim ban, only a temporary pause on travel from a few countries that are known hotbeds of terrorism.  But that hasn’t stopped propagandists from spreading the false claim.

Her words didn’t sit too well with many on social media:

Good luck getting CNN to notice…

One would hope…

Trump, however, had a completely different message when he spoke in Poland on Thursday.

“Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?” he asked.

He answered his own questions: “Just as Poland could not be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the west will never, ever be broken. Our values will prevail. Our people will thrive. And our civilization will triumph.”

Daniel Pipes, by the way, has written a very lengthy and comprehensive article on Sarsour that is well worth checking out.  The post, first published in 2010, has been updated many times since, with this published on February 1, 2017:

As Sarsour’s profile rises, so does her memorably vulgar and vicious tweet of Mar. 8, 2011 (“Brigitte Gabriel= Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin’. I wish I could take their vaginas away – they don’t deserve to be women”). Today, Hirsi Ali addressed it on television. In a dignified and serious way, she accused Sarsour of being a “fake feminist” who apologizes for Shar’i laws that oppress women. It’s a brilliant performance that deserves watching.

Now she’s advocating jihad against Trump…
