With ‘Friends’ Like These: Meet The Eight ‘Republicans’ Who Voted To Kill Mayorkas Impeachment Resolution (Video)

On Monday, the House voted 209-201 to kill a resolution introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his disastrous handling of the border.  Sadly, eight “Republicans” voted with Democrats to effectively kill the resolution.  On top of that, a number of Republicans didn’t bother voting.

Breitbart explains:

Greene introduced the privileged resolution Friday, one day after two of her constituents were killed in Texas in a head-on collision with a car driven by a human smuggler evading police.

Privileged resolutions require House floor action within two legislative days after introduction. Rather than voting on the underlying motion, Republican leadership chose to address the resolution through a Democratic motion to refer it to the Homeland Security Committee. Democrats altered their motion before the vote after previously preferring a vote simply to table the resolution.

Greene’s resolution read that Mayorkas had engaged “in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with the laws of the United States,” accusing him of “willful admittance of border crossers, terrorist human traffickers, drugs, and other contraband.”

The eight “Republicans” who voted with Democrats are:

  • Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)
  • Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)
  • Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA)
  • Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
  • Rep. John Duarte (R-CA)
  • Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
  • Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-OR)
  • Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH)

Greene correctly lashed out at the feckless “Republicans” after the vote:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“I don’t know how we ever win, guys. If we can’t get Republicans to stick together and hold people accountable and impeach someone that needs to be impeached,” she said.

She had more to say:

Republicans supposedly hold the majority here in Congress. That’s something you wouldn’t necessarily know, because we sure don’t act like it. We sure do enable Joe Biden. We enable Mayorkas. We enable an open border. We enable an illegal invasion that’s murdering Americans every single day. But we can’t even move for a vote to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. This should be very frustrating to many people.

It’s frustrating to everyone I talk to and this type of lack of will, lack of courage, lack of I don’t even know what. They’re lacking a lot to actually hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable and impeach him is shameful. It’s absolutely shameful.

We finally have control in the House and we cannot move to impeach him. I think you guys know exactly what to do about this. And I’m sure you’re just as upset as I am. And I’m sure you’re just as outraged at why anybody, any Republican, would vote with the Democrats to refer Articles of Impeachment back to committee, where they go to die, and nothing happens to them.

With “friends” like these “Republicans,” who the hell needs Democrats?
