Windy City Still Dangerous Despite New Mayor: Five Dozen Shootings in Chicago Over Memorial Day

Chicago is still a mess, even after the new mayor’s first holiday weekend in office with 52 shot and 11 killed on top of the mayor’s new “peacekeepers” turning out to be gang members.

The Windy City’s new mayor, Brandon Johnson, has fully taken control of the reins of power and during the week before Memorial Day held repeated press events where he assured that he and his office had the city all set for a safe Memorial Day weekend.

He also said that his “peacekeepers” would make sure than the city didn’t need any of those racist, murderous police officers, too.

Well, it turns out that the self-professed “progressive” mayor didn’t quite have it all sewed up like he thought.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

In fact, the shootings, robberies, mayhem, and murders didn’t come down much at all, despite all his wonderful preparations.

According to the ABC 7, Johnson still blurted out some platitudes and meaningless blather after the weekend’s bloodletting ended.

The violence our city experienced this weekend is intolerable. It produced pain and trauma that devastated communities across Chicago, and my heart breaks for everyone affected. That’s why as mayor, I am committed to leveraging every single resource at our disposal to protect every single life in our city. This holiday weekend, thousands of police officers, first responders, city workers, business leaders, organizers, faith leaders, and violence interrupters tirelessly dedicated themselves to keeping Chicago safe. I offer my deep gratitude to all those involved. We have much more work to do, but the work performed by these individuals this weekend is the foundation for how we will ultimately secure safety together.

Oh, and what about that wonderful “peacekeepers” program filled with highly trained civilians who are set to fan out across the city to replace those racist cops?

Apparently, they are just criminals pretending to be pseudo law officers.

Per CWB Chicago:

A Chicago man wearing a neon yellow “peacekeepers” vest helped a group of people beat and rob a motorist in Little Village on Friday night, according to a Chicago Police Department report. The allegations come after city and state officials lauded the use of “peacekeepers” as a tool they would deploy over the Memorial Day weekend to tamp down violence across the city.

Oscar Montes, 31, was held without bail by Judge Maryam Ahmad on charges of robbery, aggravated battery, and unlawful vehicular invasion Sunday afternoon.

The trouble began around 10:55 p.m. as Chicago police officers saw a large group fighting near 23rd Place and Washtenaw. Additional CPD units were sent to stabilize the situation.

Nice going, Mayor Johnson.

Nice going.
