While speaking to reporters in Dubai over the weekend, actor Will Smith addressed “anti-Muslim” sentiment in the United States and made a statement that has some shaking their heads.

“In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me that’s why it’s important to show up,” he said. “It’s like I’m in Dubai and I’m having fun and I’m tweeting and sharing pictures, ‘Hey doesn’t look like they hate me, does it?’”

“The Middle East can’t allow Fox News to be the arbiter of the imagery, you know,” he added. “So cinema is a huge way to be able to deliver the truth of the soul of a place to a global audience.”

“As painful as it is to hear Donal Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good,” he continued. “We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“Cleanse?”  Really?  And how, exactly, does he plan to accomplish this?  No one asked and he didn’t elaborate.

Here’s video of his comments:

It’s not the first time he’s made these kind of statements, as Breitbart.com observed:

In an appearance on The Tonight Show last month, Smith expressed hope that the country could undergo a similar “cleansing,” as racist incidents are increasingly captured on film across America.

“When everything gets out, it’s a good thing,” Smith told Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. “It just sucks bad when the truth is out. But I think everybody can see it now. And I think it’s just a little darkness before the cleansing that we’ll have as we move forward.”

If one uses the standard that has been set by the propagandists in the Democrat-media complex, one might think he intends something a bit… violent.  You know, something like this:

Smith, the New York Daily News said, was promoting his new movie, “Suicide Squad.”
