A recent report by the Barnabas Aid foundation, an agency which acts on behalf of persecuted Christians around the world, reveals the continued denial and discrimination of the plight of Christian refugees in war torn Syria by allowing nearly none of the Christians who seek safety into the U.S.

The report shows that the Obama administration has allowed only two Christian refugees from Syria to enter the U.S. since the beginning of the year, on track for the same amount as in 2015.

Barnabas Aid gained access to the statistics issued by the US State Department, that revealed that only two Syrian Christians were granted access to the US in the first two months of 2016, out of a total of 281 Syrian refugees, of all religions.

Barnabas Aid further stated that at less than 1% of the total, the figures show the massive injustice of the United Nations referral system towards Syrian Christians who made up 10% of the country’s population before the conflict erupted, and who are at higher risk because of Islamic State’s targeted anti-Christian violence.

“The figures again expose what Barnabas Aid has been saying since the beginning: Syrian Christians need special help to gain access to safety because they do not live in the UN refugee camps for fear of Islamists at the camps,” Barnabas Aid stated. “Instead, the Christians seek shelter in schools, churches, other large buildings, or are crowded into relatives’ homes. This means, however, that they are then disadvantaged by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) resettlement and visa schemes which provide aid and asylum for those registered at the UN refugee camps.”

“Unless more Western governments understand that Christians in the Middle East are being specifically targeted by Islamist militants because of their faith in Jesus, and that they are being overlooked in the resettlement programmes, simply because they are too afraid to live in the refugee camps, the risk facing our brothers and sisters in Iraq and Syria will only continue to grow, “ said Barnabas Aid.

The discrimination of Christians refugees by the Obama administration is nothing new based on a news report in 2015.

Since the days following the massacre by an Islamic radical who murdered 49 people at an Orlando gay bar, the Obama Administration has allowed 441 Muslim refugees into the U.S., placing dozens in Florida.

The relocation has angered Florida Gov. Rick Scott.

When Scott asked the White House for data and answers about the new Muslim refugees being located to Florida, the White House refused to give an answer.

Scott said, “The White House said they will not share that information with the Florida law enforcement. They said, oh, that those people have privacy rights. What about our security rights? The security and making sure if you live in my state, you’re gonna be safe. I’m responsible for the safety of the people in my state. I’m fed up with the fact that we’re not destroying ISIS. We’re not vetting these people; we’re not taking care of our own citizens.”
