The Wagner group, under chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has rebelled against the Russian military and is said to be advancing toward Moscow. Terming the measure as a “March for Justice” the ruthless mercenaries claim that the Russian military fired on their troops, although the seeds of rebellion have been fomenting since the beginning of the Ukraine War. The Wagner forces have reportedly taken control of Rostov-on-Don, which is a major military hub, and are advancing toward the Capital. Putin is P*****. Unverified rumors said that he fled Moscow, but the Kremlin stated that he is currently working at his desk.
UPDATE: SKY News reported that the Prigozhin has ordered his troops to turn back to avoid bloodshed.
Putin delivered an address on the situation, stating in part (translation via Twitter):
I also appeal to those who, by deceit or threats, were dragged into a dangerous adventure, a serious crime of an armed rebellion;

Is this a coup attempt by the CIA so that Biden can use it in his campaign? If so, it would be another stupid move. Replacing one dictator for another is a crap shoot that the US seems to never stop playing. And in this case, nuclear weapons are involved. Democrats in particular seem to like this game of chance…and want to use it to their advantage in an election. However, the end result could be devastating.
Wagner forces have served as a virtual private army for Putin and have provided critical support to Russian troops fighting in Ukraine. The paramilitary group includes thousands of former prisoners who were recruited from Russian jails. However, Prigozhin has feuded with the defense ministry, accusing Russian military officials of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition.
In a series of angry video and audio recordings on Friday, Prigozhin accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of ordering a rocket strike on the private military contractor’s field camps where the group is fighting on behalf of Russia in Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry denied the accusation.

A Russian rocket recently struck the Wagner Group camp in the forest, killing many of their troops. A strike which Prigozhin blamed on the Russian military. The Russian Defense Ministry denied the claim. But it would be a mistake to celebrate this potential civil war or coup, because the Leader of the Wagner Group is a vicious killer – and Russia has thousands of nuclear warheads.

For its part, Ukraine may benefit from this unrest for the time being. But the rest of the world…not so much. The Wagner Group, once allies of Putin, is a cruel, cold-blooded killing machine maybe even worse than Putin. They are accused of horrific atrocities in Ukraine, torture and murders of women, children, even the elderly.
It is unclear where this situation will end up, whether Prigozhin will meet with a missile strike, or Putin will be deposed. Either way, it is a critical juncture for the entire world.
