Yevgeny Prigozhin, once the Russian Wagner Group Leader, was killed in a plane crash on August 23 in the Tver region northwest of Moscow. All 10 people on board, some of whom were his top lieutenants, died. They were reportedly travelling from Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow to St. Petersburg. Prigozhin was the leader of a short-lived attempted coup on June 23…and if you thought Vladimir Putin was going to just pass that off as no big deal, you would be wrong. Even the Kremlin admits the plane crash “may have been the result of “deliberate wrongdoing” …which can be understood in different ways. And it may hold a harbinger of our own future.
The Kremlin said Wednesday the crash that caused the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of private military force Wagner who died in Russia last week, may have been the result of “deliberate wrongdoing.”
Investigators have still not determined an official cause, but “different versions” of what happened “are being considered,” according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov told reporters during his daily conference call that among the possible causes are, “let’s put it this way, deliberate wrongdoing.”
He said the Russian Investigative Committee has not yet concluded its probe into the wreck. The committee opened a criminal case last week on charges of flight safety violations, a default charge used in plane crash investigations in Russia when foul play is not suspected. Fox
The Wagner group, as we have reported, is known for its vicious battle tactics that include horrific atrocities. It was primarily made up of men from Russian prisons, including Prigozhin.
Supposedly, Prigozhin met with Putin and came up with a “deal” to live in Belarus instead of Russia- it appears that “deal” was one-sided. It’s also true that the plane was listed as being in Moscow, which would have violated the so-called “deal.” Reports surfaced of Prigozhin’s whereabouts from Mali to Belarus in recent weeks. Russian officials have claimed they will continue to help Mali from the terrorists. Which is interesting given the current state of affairs and political tactics.
Anyone with half a brain understands that Putin doesn’t take rebellion well. He has been responsible for the deaths, poisonings, and imprisonment of political opponents for decades. Ask Alexei Navalny, who sits in a Russian prison after being poisoned. It’s how things work in Russia. The Wagner Group’s short lived coup attempt was bound to carry repercussions with Putin.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The warning here is that the United States is very close to slipping over the cliff into these kinds of politics. From the Clinton’s “list” to the vicious prosecution of the people Democrats hate (like Trump, his supporters and attorneys, the Jan 6 victims, etc.) we sit on the edge of something closely akin to what Putin does. Can we stop this inevitable march toward full on Communism? You decide.
